As per usual, there’ll be fireworks on November 5th. But this year, they’ll be online and they’ll be GLOBAL. That’s if the promise made by shady hacking group Anonymous comes true, for they have declared that Guy Fawkes Day will be the day that they DESTROY FACEBOOK.

Yes, the planet’s biggest social network is fixed firmly in the sights of Anonymous and they reckon they’re going to blow it sky high while we’re out staring at bonfires and burning our hands on sparklers.

Anonymous say that Facebook “gives users the illusion of (privacy) and hides the details away from them “for their own good” while they then make millions off of you.” For those reasons, it has to end, and Anonymous believe that we’ll all thank them for it in the future.

Put it in your diaries and start saving the 36,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 pictures that you’ve uploaded to your Facebook account before they’re gone for good. KABLOOM!

Elsewhere, Facebook have launched a standalone messaging app thingy (although only in the US for now) which will probably be MASSIVE in the very near future. Shame you’ve only got about three months to enjoy it. KABLOOM!
