Man makes Siri work with his central heating

Man makes Siri work with his central heating:

Some clever dick has hacked Apple’s voice-activated personal assistant Siri and made it work with his thermostat, which is good if you like that sort of thing.

He uses a proxy server for Siri, according to reports, which allows you to connect with other devices without jailbreaking your iPhone. Here’s his video about it all, with his funny drunk sounding voice.

While changing the temperature of your thermostat may not dazzle you daft, what’s vaguely more interesting is that this could end up being used on a whole host of other things around the house such as turning your TV on and off and making your cooker turn on with your voice. Well future.

The Siri Proxy code can be downloaded from the Github web site.
